Southerton Community Super League | Matchday Report
Oasis FC secured an impressive 3–1 victory over Rayo V FC in a well-contested league match,
combining attacking efficiency with control in all the right moments; the kind of performance
coaches enjoy watching twice.
The game started competitively, with both sides looking to impose themselves early and set the
tone. However, Oasis FC gradually took control, converting their chances effectively and steadily
turning up the pressure on Rayo V FC’s defence. Rayo V FC did manage to get on the scoresheet
through Ranaka M, but it was not enough to slow down a clinical Oasis side that had already
found its rhythm.
Oasis FC’s pressure paid off when Simbarashe M opened the scoring, finishing well after a build
up that exposed gaps in the Rayo V FC defence. Oasis continued to press forward with intent, and
not long after, Keith M doubled the lead with a composed finish, the kind that quietly shifts a
game out of reach.
Rayo V FC struggled to settle, finding it difficult to break through Oasis FC’s well-organised
defensive structure. The first half ended with Oasis firmly in control at 2–0 and looking
comfortable while at it.
Rayo V FC came out with more urgency after the break and were rewarded for their efforts when
Ranaka M pulled one back, giving the home side hope and briefly shifting the momentum, just
enough to make things interesting.
Matchday focus before kickoff
However, Oasis FC responded with composure.
No panic, no rush, just control.
Oasis FC 3 – 1 Rayo V FC
They regained their grip on the game, slowed the tempo, and limited Rayo’s attacking
opportunities. Their persistence paid off when Tapiwa Chitongo scored the third goal, effectively
sealing the victory and putting a full stop to the contest.
This result sees Oasis FC climb into a more competitive position on the table, now sitting 5th with
3 points.
